Internships

 Fall 2020

This fall, we are offering five sections of Writing Theory and Tutoring, a 3-credit course that combines hands-on tutoring with classroom learning. Students train in diverse tutoring perspectives and strategies, develop a full range of professional tutoring skills, and are guided by a Professor through readings and reflections on their tutoring experiences.

In keeping with university policy, all Sections will be held remotely. Sections 1 and 6 will be asynchronous, while Sections 3, 5, and 8 will be synchronous. As part of the course, Interns will tutor one unpaid 80-minute session per week, for ten weeks. These sessions are scheduled according to the Intern’s availability, and are in lieu of the second class period during the ten weeks of tutoring. During the semester, Interns may be invited to tutor additional paid sessions for up to ten hours per week. Tutoring sessions will be online and hosted through our Digital Writing Center.
